Over 4,000 individuals join collective walk in December to commemorate community sports movement

Employees and departmental officials led by SAC members participate in collective walk in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, to promote the health and fitness of the entire nation and raise Myanmar’s sports standards at the individual level, organized a collective walk yesterday morning at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw to commemorate the public sports movement of December 2023 (Fifth Week).
Members of the State Administration Council, including Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr Hmu Thang, Dr Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, and U Shwe Kyein, as well as Union ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of departments, attended the collective walk. In total, more than 4,000 employees and their family members participated in the celebration.
U Min Thein Zan, Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman and Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs launched the start of the walk. Participants joyfully strolled along the designated routes at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium. Following the walk, they engaged in physical fitness exercises and dance routines. Officials from the Department of Sports and Physical Education distributed water bottles and nutritional snacks.
Afterward, the Union Minister presented gifts to the members of the State Administration Council and Union Ministers who participated in the collective walk in December 2023.
The collective walks commemorating the December 2023 public sports activities took place every Saturday in December. Members of the State Administration Council, officials from ministries, and not only the employees but also their family members participated in the collective walks. — MNA/KZW
