Over 180,000 students register for 2023 matriculation exam

Over 180,000 students registered to sit for the matriculation examination to be held in March 2023, according to the data of the Department of Myanmar Examinations.
The three-hour tests will be held from 8 to 18 March. The candidates will have to take Myanmar, English and Mathematics exams on 8, 9 and 10 March respectively. Then, they will sit for Chemistry and Physics on 13 and 14 March and Biology and Economics on 15 March. Geography, History and Optional Myanmar exams will be on 16, 17 and 18 March respectively.
The final matriculation exam of the old format and curriculums will be held in 2023 for those who failed in 2022 or did not sit for the exam the last academic year.
Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe said it should follow the procedures for the 2023 matriculation examination and the question types and sample questions for relevant subjects for the 2024 matriculation examination will be released in early May before the school days in June 2023.
There were over 280,000 students who sat for the exam in 2022 and over 130,000 students passed the exam accounting for 46.88 per cent nationwide. — TWA/KTZH
