Over 10,000 housing units under construction in five towns

The Ministry of Construction is building more than 10,000 units of low-cost and affordable housing in five towns including Yangon.
This year, the ministry has targeted to construct more low-cost units in Yangon region. The plots of land are already permitted to build the low-cost housing units in South Dagon and Hlinethaya townships for the squatters to be able to live in affordable apartments.
These low-cost and affordable housing units will be constructed within this year and sold to the public. Over 10,000 apartments are being sold in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Monywa, Pathein and Magway regions.
At present, the ministry has constructed more than 2,200 units of low-cost and affordable housing in Yangon and 800 units of Mya Yee Nanda housing project in Mandalay, according to the Ministry of Construction. —Aye Maung(Translated by Hay Mar)
