Opera series ‘Miyo Phala Yoe Yar Nat Myar’ to air on Channel K, Hey Play

According to production director Padamyar Kay Khine, the opera series titled ‘Miyo Phala Yoe Yar Nat Myar’ (traditional spirits) will be broadcast by Channel K and the Hey Play application.
The series’ story and plot were written by Padamyar Kay Khine, with guidance from professional spirit dancers and spirit historians. Myanmar traditional dancer Tin Maung San Min Win is directing the series.
“The theatrical shows reflect traditional spirits. We aim to preserve this tradition, regardless of whether you believe in the spirits or not. We are creating the series based on the most significant stories and histories from a range of sources. There are 37 internal Nats and 37 external Nats, as well as other famous Nats such as Shin Ma Aung Phyu, who is not among the 37 Mins (Nats),” said the production director.
The series will feature many theatrical dancers from the Myanmar Theatrical Association, led by senior dancers Tin Maung San Min Win, Nang Khin Hmwe, and Padamyar Kay Khine. Filming began on 23 July at Pyinsatheinkha Studio, located in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon. — ASH/TRKM
