Only one train to run on Yangon-Mandalay line, the rest suspended

Myanmar Railways (MR) announced that only one train would operate on the Yangon-Mandalay route, while all other trains were temporarily suspended.

Only one train will run on Yangon-Mandalay trip and the rest trains will be temporarily suspended, according to Myanmar Railways (MR).

“At the moment, only one train will run on Yangon-Mandalay route. It is No. 5 Up train and will depart at 5:00 am. The other trains are now cancelled,” said an MR official.

Departing from Yangon at 5:00 am, Yangon-Mandalay No.5 Up train will arrive in Mandalay at 10:20 pm, and departing from Mandalay at 5:00 am, Mandalay-Yangon No.6 Down train will arrive in Yangon at 10:30 pm.

“The evening train will now leave at 5:00 am. Only one train. We cannot guess when other trains for Yangon-Mandalay route will be resumed,” he said.

The up-train will only stop at Bago, Toungoo, Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw and Thazi stations.
