National Security Adviser and Union Minister for the Ministry 1 of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office Admiral Moe Aung hosted a dinner for BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs from member countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand and the BIMSTEC Secretary-General and their wives at M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.
National Security Chiefs Shri Ajit Doval from India, Ambassador Mr Abdul Motaleb Sarker of Bangladesh, Mr Sonam Wangyel from Bhutan, Mr Harishchandra Ghimire of Nepal, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) from Sri Lanka, Mr Ruchakorn Napapornpipat from Thailand, BIMSTEC Secretary-General Mr Indra Mani Pandey and their wives, deputy ministers and their wives who are members of BIMSTEC’s Steering Committee for the successful holding of the Fourth National Security Chiefs’ Meeting, and working committee members attended the dinner.
National Security Adviser Union Minister Admiral Moe Aung, BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs and spouses first toured around the booths displaying traditional Myanmar handicrafts at the M Gallery Hotel.
Union Minister Admiral Moe Aung then gave a welcome speech. During the dinner, artistes from the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture performed Myanmar cultural dances and traditional dances of BIMSTEC member countries with honourable songs.
After the dinner, the Union minister and BIMSTEC delegates presented the flower banquet to performers, exchanged souvenirs, and took a documentary group picture together. — MNA/TS
