Ngwetaung Beach draws 17,000+ visitors in June despite monsoon

According to Daw Ni Ni Mar, an executive from the Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (Ngwetaung Beach), 17,455 domestic visitors from various states and regions visited Ngwetaung Beach in Ngaputaw Township, Ayeyawady Region, in June 2024, despite the monsoon season.
Ngwetaung Beach, located very close to Myat Mawtinsun Pagoda, attracts internal visitors year-round, primarily from Yangon Region and Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory. Daw Ni Ni Mar said, “In 2024, a total of 35,455 local visitors came in January, 36,555 in February, 38,955 in March, 48,955 in April, and 54,555 in May. Even in June, during the rainy season, we had 17,455 domestic visitors.”
The beach offers services such as bike rentals, motorboat rides, horse rides, local foods, and souvenirs for the visitors. — ASH/TMT
