Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University beautifies campus with tree planting initiative

Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University will teach computer science and computer technology in addition to engineering subjects to students in the coming academic year.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing emphasized Naypyitaw Technological University, established on 12 November 2022, conducts seven engineering major subjects for students.
As the second monsoon tree-growing ceremony 2024 in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory Area, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing planted a Gangaw (Mesua ferrea) sapling on the campus of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University yesterday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that applying modern technologies to conserve trees will contribute to the sustainable development of the nation. Environmental engineering subject combined with biology, chemistry, ecology, geology, microbiology and hydrology are of great importance in enhancing environmental improvement, adding that environmental engineering plays a crucial role in the production of quality strains of crops, watershed management, biodiversity conservation and water and soil management.
The Senior General underscored that a total of 22.332 million saplings will be grown in State-owned plantations during this monsoon season as well as in areas outside the forest land and in urban and rural areas.
He instructed officials to grow trees along both sides of ASEAN Highways and expressways as well as railways.
He expressed that the tree-growing ceremony will comprise 1,426 trees from 10 species on the university campus.
He stressed the need to grow trees and flowery plants on the campus of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University to be established as the top university nationwide and turn out qualified engineers for the State with the aim of shaping Nay Pyi Taw as the education city.
The Senior General planted a Gangaw (Mesua ferrea) sapling at the designated place.
The SAC Secretary, the Joint Secretary, council members, Union-level dignitaries, Union ministers, faculty members and students also grew saplings.
The Senior General also viewed round participation of attendees in growing trees. At the ceremony, a total of 1,426 saplings of 10 species were planted at the second monsoon tree-growing ceremony 2024.

After the ceremony, the Senior General inspected the construction of the viewpoint of the Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University, the progress of staff housing, including the three-storey main lecture building, hostels, sports grounds, the library and teaching aid buildings, completion of lecture halls and assembly halls and left necessary guidance to officials. — MNA/TTA
