Nay Pyi Taw Council gives land compensation to farmers

Nay Pyi Taw Council distributed land compensationamounting to K130.488 million to 42 farmers from Pobbathiri, Dekkhinathiri and Ottarathiri townships in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The second land compensation distribution ceremony was held at the Nay Pyi Taw City Hall. At the ceremony, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Mayor Dr Myo Aung said the council realized that the farmland are the farmer’s life and they could not be evaluated with money.
The council paid compensation to farmers to ensure that they can gain benefits from urban development through their farmland.
Then, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and Mayor Dr Myo Aung, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Aye Maung Sein, Deputy Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw U Ye Min Oo and Hluttaw representatives distributed compensation to
farmers.
During the time of the incumbent government, Nay Pyi Taw Council gave K875.6815 million as the land compensation to 312 local farmers for 844.078 acres of land in 2016-17 financial year, K99.965 million to 42 local farmers for 91.17 acres in 2017-18 FY, K121.9744674 million to 50 farmers for 221.728 acres in 2018-19FY, and K112.692 million to 22 farmers for 110.76 acres for the first time of this FY.—MNA
