Construction of Myawady highway bus terminal is in progress, and it is scheduled to open in October this year.
The K7 billion worth project is named as Sein Let Myaing which is three kilometres away from Myawady town and near Aye Thuka village. The project was started in November 2018.
The rooms from the bus terminal are sold for between K80 million and K100 million. The rooms can be bought through the instalment system.
“Sein Let Myaing bus terminal is being constructed by the stepping stone company. Our MIEG company is cooperating with them in the form of partnership. We have submitted a proposal to Kayin State government to build the highway bus terminal. After we were granted permission from Kayin State government, we started our project. Entering the terminal gate, the highway buses stop to load the goods. So, we face traffic congestion nearly every day. We got an idea to build the highway bus terminal, spending K7 billion, said Managing Director U Kyaw Naing of MIEG.
The highway bus terminal is under construction on an 8.1-acre plot of land. Each bus gate is 15 feet wide and 35 feet long. There will be 110 rooms in the two-storeyed building. The terminal is expected to open in this October. —Htein Lin Aung (IPRD) (Translated by Hay Mar)
