Myanmar’s mineral exports earn US$216.611 mln as of January

Myanmar bagged US$216.611 million from exporting mineral products in the 2023-2024 financial year (from 1 April to 12 January), according to Daw Cho Thet Mu, deputy director of the Trade Policy Division of the Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce.
Myanmar exported finished industrial goods internationally during the above period, receiving $166.309 million from seaborne exports and $50.302 million from border trade, totalling $216.611 million.
“In mineral exports, the ore grabbed $89.112 million, and the second highest income of $27.946 million came from the export of jade,” Daw Cho Thet Mu said. Myanmar’s mineral exports include gold, jade, gemstones, pearls, diamonds, lead, tin, sapphire, silver, copper, zinc, coal, and other minerals. — ASH/TKO
