Myanmar’s mineral exports cross US$116 mln over last 4 months

Myanmar’s mineral exports amounted to US$116.017 million from mineral exports between 1 April 2022 and 28 July 2023 in the current financial year 2023-2024, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The public sector performed mineral exports worth over $20 million whereas the private sector saw mineral exports worth over $95 million in the past four months.
Myanmar earned $123.665 million from mineral exports in the corresponding period last FY. So, the mineral exports shrunk by over $7 million this FY.
The value of mineral exports stood at $895.611 million in the 2020-2021 FY and $288.599 million in the 2021-2022 FY. The gems and jewellery, gold, jade, pearl, diamond, lead, tin, tungsten, silver, copper, zinc, coal and other minerals are included.
The exploration and production of minerals are commonly found in Kayah State, Taninthayi, Mandalay and Sagiang regions. — TWA/EM
