Myanmar’s fish export earns US$91.584 mln within four months

According to the Department of Fisheries, over 80,000 tonnes of fish were exported to foreign countries within the past four months (From 1 April to 31 July) and Myanmar received US$91.584 million.
Myanmar has been exporting Ribbon fish, Rohu fish, Hilsha fish, Gold fish and eel through regular trade routes.
From 1 April to 31 July, a total of 80,334.423 tonnes of fish were shipped and the export earned US$91.584 million: 33,288.818 tonnes of fish worth US$48.089 million from regular trading and 47,045.605 tonnes of fish worth US$43.495 million from border trading.
Myanmar exports fish to Thailand, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Singapore, the UAE, Bangladesh and Britain mostly, stated the Department of Fisheries.
Through regular trading and border trading, Myanmar earned US$116.159 million and US$ 142.244 million from exporting 79,828.498 tonnes and 163,701.158 tonnes of fish to foreign countries within six months of the previous financial year 2021-2022, respectively. Thus, Myanmar shipped 243,529.656 tonnes of fish and earned a total of US$258.403 million. — TWA/GNLM
