Myanmar’s ASEAN Representative and UNOCHA discuss humanitarian cooperation

Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN U Aung Myo Myint meets Ms Thandie Mwape, head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA Indonesia).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN U Aung Myo Myint and Ms Thandie Mwape, Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) based in Indonesia, held talks on 21 June.
During the meeting, they frankly exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between ASEAN and UNOCHA in disaster management and humanitarian assistance. They also discussed the terms under which UNOCHA could collaborate to provide humanitarian aid from ASEAN to Myanmar. — ASH/TKO
