Myanmar volleyball finals mark for International Youth Day

In celebration of the 2024 International Youth Day, the Myanmar Volleyball Social Association Executive Cup finals for under-21 male and female teams took place at 8:30 am yesterday. The event was held at the gymnasium of Aung San Stadium in Yangon, with attendance from Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and other Yangon Regional government ministers.
During the finals, the Women’s Youth Camp team defeated the Yangon Youth Team in three games. In the national competition, the Mandalay Team triumphed over the Shan (Youth) Team in three games as well.
Following the matches, an awards ceremony was organized. U Ye Naing, Chairman of the Myanmar Volleyball Social Association, presented individual medals and cash awards to the top male and female players, as well as the top four female teams. Regional ministers awarded medals and cash awards to the teams finishing in fourth, third, and second places in the men’s event. Chief Minister U Soe Thein then awarded the Mandalay team with individual medals, a cash award, and the championship trophy for winning the men’s event.
The prize breakdown for the men’s event was as follows: first prize was K10 million, second prize K5 million, third prize K2.5 million, and fourth prize K1.5 million. The best player received K1 million. For the women’s matches, the first prize was K6 million, second prize K3 million, third prize K1.5 million, and fourth prize K1 million, with the best player receiving K500,000. — Akar Linn/TMT
