Myanmar, Vietnamese cardiologists perform surgeries for congenital heart disease patients in Mandalay

Myanmar and Vietnamese specialists conducted operations for patients with congenital heart disease using a device closure that is gently inserted in the groin to seal the hole without open-chest surgery at the Mandalay General Hospital on 23-24 September.
Prof Dr Kyaw Soe Win (Cardiologist) and Cardiologist Dr Nguyen Lan Hieu of Hanoi Medical University led the operations.
The Myanmar and Vietnamese teams organized the workshop on Congenital Heart Disease Device Closure workshop and discussed the Echocardiogram for the treatments of Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Stenosis.
They successfully performed operations for 34 patients with congenital heart disease — two ASD patients, four VSD patients with Pulmonary Stenosis and seven PDA patients using device closure. — MNA/KTZH
