Myanmar U-23 team falls into AFC Qualifiers Pot 2

Myanmar U-23 men’s national football team is included in the seeding pot 2 of the East Zone of AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers, said the ASEAN Football Federation officials.
Myanmar is falling in the same seeding pot with Singapore, Malaysia, China and Japan.
Meanwhile, Thailand and Viet Nam are placing in the Pot 1 with Australia, North Korea, and South Korea.
In Pot 3, four ASEAN teams — Indonesia, Timor Leste, Cambodia and Laos are seen together with Hong Kong.
Next, two other ASEAN teams, the Philippines and Brunei, are involved in the Pot 4 with China Taipei, North Marian, Guam, Macau, and Mongolia.
The 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification will be held between 23 to 31 October 2021.
The drawing ceremony is set to hold at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, shortly. The 46 teams, including Myanmar from East and West Zones, will be drawn into nine groups (four teams per group) and two groups of five teams. For the draw, teams are divided into two zones: West and East.
“The teams are seeded according to their performance in the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship final tournament and qualification,” AFC officials said.
“Eleven teams which will indicate their intention to serve as qualification group hosts prior to the draw will be drawn into separate groups,” officials added. —GNLM
