Myanmar’s U-20 men’s football team, made up of talented new-generation players who have won some top domestic clubs, will play two friendly matches against China U-20, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
Myanmar U-20 is formed with players from the Myanmar Football Academy of the MFF, selected players from regional and state teams, and new, young, outstanding players from Myanmar National League (MNL) clubs. Its head coach is U Aung Naing.
After prior coordination between the Chinese Football Association and MFF, Myanmar U-20 will play two closed-door friendly matches against Chinese U-20 in Xianghe, China, on 30 May and 2 June.
This Myanmar team has been taking training in camps for a long time to prepare for the U-19 ASEAN Football Federation Championships in July 2024, to be hosted by Indonesia and U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers in September. During their camp training, Myanmar U-20 played friendly matches against top MNL clubs such as Shan United Club, Hanthawady United Club and Yangon United Club, resulting in two wins and one defeat. — Htet Oo Maung/ZN
