Myanmar Rescue Organization-Mandalay Region Committee has been providing about 4000 gallons of water on a regular basis to areas in need of water for domestic use and it has also planned to continue giving this assistance, said an official from the organization.

By three water trucks with capacities of 3400 gallons, 1000 gallons and 500 gallons, the organization has provided about 4000 gallons of water for pagodas and temples, monasteries, meditation centres, residential wards and houses which are in need of water, on a regular basis.

“It doesn’t mean the water is extremely short because it is a big city. But due to power cuts and water cuts, some people from residential wards and pagodas and temples, monasteries and meditation centres have suffered water shortage for domestic use, that is why we go to assist them. Anyone can contact our organization when they have difficulty with water for domestic use. At present, we have provided about 4000 gallons of water a day on a regular basis,” he said.

In April last year, they also gave assistances for people who suffered from water shortage for some reasons and will continue helping this year too, if water crisis happens, he added.

Those who are in need of water can call the organization numbers 09767119119 and 09787119119 for requesting help.
