Myanmar reaffirms commitment to implementing Five-Point Roadmap

The State Administration Council has adopted a firm pledge to continue implementing the Five-Point Roadmap, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held talks with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, through videoconferencing yesterday morning.
Before the talks, the Senior General and the President of the Senate of Cambodia extended greetings.
At the talks, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen cordially discussed preparation to successfully hold an election in Myanmar in accord with the Constitution (2008).
They highlighted Cambodia’s efforts in taking Myanmar measures in ASEAN and its willingness to share experiences of Cambodia’s election.
Moreover, they recounted the fostering of good relations between Myanmar and Cambodia, the aid of Cambodia to Myanmar, which faced the outbreak of COVID-19 and the impacts of severe cyclonic storm Mocha. Both sides frankly talked about the participation of Myanmar in ASEAN with a constructive attitude and necessary preparations, including the plan to enumerate the population and housing census in order to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election.
Also present at the virtual talks were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials. — MNA/TTA
