Myanmar prepares for BPFA+30 report

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement organized a coordination meeting on submitting the BPFA+30 review report in 12 critical areas of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Dr Soe Win, who is also chairman of the Myanmar Women’s Committee, said the BPFA is a global policy to emphasize the 12 critical areas to empower women, peace and gender equality. The country is implementing Procedure 2 of the BPFA and reorganized the Myanmar National Committee on Women-MNCW with deputy minister-level officials to strengthen the commitment, and also carried out the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2013-2022), and is now making efforts to approve 2023-2032 strategic plan.
He continued that Myanmar submitted the five-year (2014-2019) Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA)+25 to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) on 16 June 2019, and the BPFA+30 report will cover the implementations conducted between April 2019 and March 2024.
Then, the attendees coordinated the meeting regarding the Zero Draft of BPFA + 30 and selected the five priorities for the coming five years.
