Myanmar participates in commemoration of G-77’s 60th anniversary in Vienna

The 60th anniversary of the Group of 77 (G-77) was celebrated at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) on 20 June in Vienna, Austria. Myanmar’s Ambassador U Min Thein, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, attended the event, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The current chairperson of the G-77 (Vienna Chapter) Ms Laura Gil, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Colombia and former chairperson Mr Azzeddine Farhane, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Morocco, Executive Secretary Mr Robert Floyd of the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), representatives of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) expressed words of honour at the event.
Food festival and cultural performances were also arranged where the Permanent Mission of Myanmar in Vienna served Myanmar traditional foods and presented a Myanmar Thingyan choral dance performance at the event. — ASH/ TMT
