Myanmar, Mozambique sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of sharing source code

A Memorandum of Understanding over permitting Mozambican Ministry of Industry and Trade to copy the source code of Myanmar website, National Trade Portal and Trade Repository Website was signed yesterday afternoon at the meeting hall of Ministry of Commence in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the event, Director-General of Department of Trade U Min Min and National Director of Mozambican Ministry of Industry and Trade signed the MOU.
Directors general, deputy Directors-General and directors of departments under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International trade promotion department, Directorate of Communication, Ministry of Commerce and official of USAID attended the ceremony.
It was reported that they hope to cement the friendship between two countries by helping Mozambique establish portal system.
Department of Trade launched National Trade Portal and Trade Repository Website on 26 May 2016 with the help of USAID.
Trade law and regulations, tax rate and information about trade can be seen on the website in both Myanmar and English. Regulations of Non- tariff measures -NTMs of different goods can also be found.
The website was built copying source code from Laos and updated one was built for long term use with the help of USAID. The new website replaced the former one on 19 November 2018.—MNA (Translated by Alphonsus)
