The Myanmar national football team left for Macau on the morning of 14 October to compete in the second leg of the 2026 World Cup first-round qualifiers.
Team Myanmar has arrived three days before the qualifiers and will play the second-round match on 17 October at 6 pm Myanmar time at the Macau Olympic Complex.
Myanmar won the first-leg match on 12 October with a score of five goals to one, so they are in a good position to advance to the next round.
Due to the difference in skill between the Myanmar team and the Macau team in the first-round match, Myanmar is likely to get a good result in the second leg as well. Myanmar had to wait for a long time to get the big win.
If the Myanmar team can overcome the Macau team, they will be allowed to advance to the second round, falling in the same group as North Korea, Japan and Syria. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
