Myanmar joins ASEAN Committee Heads of Missions Meeting in Canberra

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that Myanmar Chargé d’affaires U Thet Tun attended the heads of missions meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), which was held at the Commonwealth Club on 26 June.
The meeting was organized by Malaysia, which is the alternate chairmanship of the ACC and chaired by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia Ms Sharrina Binti Abdullah. During the meeting, the minutes of the heads of missions meeting, which was held in February 2024, were approved. The meeting also reviewed the ACC activities successfully implemented from January to June 2024 during the ACC Chairmanship of the High Commission of Malaysia, discussed the ACC Notional Calendar for 2024, and exchanged views on the matters related to the engagement between Australian officials and the ACC.
After the meeting, the ACC Chairmanship was handed over to Mrs Ma Hellen Barber De La Vega, Filipino Ambassador to Australia. — ASH/ TMT
