Myanmar exports over 47,700MT of fisheries in April-May

Of fisheries products placed in the external market in the past two months (April-May) 2024, various fish accounts for 47,719.523 metric tonnes worth US$51.6 million, comprising 23,687.149 tonnes in maritime trade and 24,032.374 tonnes at the border, the Fisheries Department’s statistics showed.
The figures rose from 19,593.73 MT worth $26.946 million recorded in the corresponding period last FY 2023-2024.
Myanmar exports fisheries products, including fish and shrimp, to more than 40 countries, including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan. Some are directly shipped through Yangon, while some are shipped through border channels. — TWA/KK
