As a special programme, Myanmar Embassy in Singapore will provide passport extension service for about 200 Myanmar nationals on 23 June, Sunday, on the weekend holiday, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, said the embassy.
The embassy has provided passport extension service on regular basis for about 75 persons by online appointment system and about 45 persons by WhatsApp appointment system. There are a lot of Myanmar nationals who are waiting to extend their passports in Singapore due to difficulty of seeking online appointment on the embassy website and unavailability of the schedule.
In order to ease their difficulties, the embassy will work on its closed day, Sunday on 23 June 2024 for about 200 Myanmar nationals whose passport validity will end on 31 August 2025, as a special programme.
Those who want to do passport extension on 23 June can register along with passport page and front and back copy of unexpired Identity Card (IC) which are required to submit to WhatsApp number +6581748993, from 1 June to 14 June and the list of eligible names will be announced on 19 June on the embassy website.
List of issued passports will be announced again on 25-27 June from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, it said.
For WhatsApp registration, the embassy warns of not making fake documents or submitting through brokers, and no private service company or person will be allowed for this special plan.
It also requested Myanmar nationals to help each other if there is any difficulty for submission of documents through WhatsApp. — MT/ZS
