Myanmar Embassy advises to be aware of authority’s warnings after a powerful quake hit near Kyushu

Centering Hyuganada Sea, a powerful earthquake struck near Japan’s southern island of Kyushu and Myanmar Embassy to Japan has suggested Myanmar nationals living in the area should pay special attention to warnings issued by local authorities.

It said in a statement on natural disaster issued on 9 August.

A 7.1-magnitude quake hit the southern island of Kyushu in Japan on 8 August at 4:43pm, and Myanmar nationals in the quake-affected area would need to pay special attention to warnings of local authorities, said the statement. It has provided hot line number 070-4413-7383 for helps if Myanmar nationals need foods and jobs.

Due to the quake, tsunamis in a meter height are possible to happen on the coast of Kyushu and the coast of the island Shikoku, warned by Japan Meteorological Agency.
