Myanmar delegation explores health cooperation with China

The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win visited the Centre of Disease Prevention and Control in Jiangsu Province, China, on 17 September. During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in public health and disease prevention.
Mr Zhou Minghao, Vice- Chairman of the Jiangsu Province Health Commission, extended greetings and discussed plans for increased cooperation in health matters between the two nations. Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and fitness on a national level. He highlighted the joint implementation of the Myanmar Centre for Disease Control and Health Staff Training Centre in Nay Pyi Taw, in partnership with China, to enhance epidemic prevention and control capabilities.
The Ministry of Health also committed to providing training at the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and facilitating exchanges between health experts from Myanmar and China. Discussions revolved around health sector cooperation, border area healthcare, infectious disease prevention, traditional medicine, and the exchange of souvenirs.
The delegation toured various laboratories, discussing potential areas of collaboration, before returning to Yangon yesterday from their visit to China. — MNA/TS
