Myanmar delegates arrive back in Yangon from 5th China Quality Conference

Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein visits the Gaoqiao-li Rural Revitalization Project.

Myanmar representatives led by Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein returned to Yangon via airline yesterday after attending the Fifth China Quality Conference held on 1 and 2 September in Chengdu, Sichuan province, the People’s Republic of China.
The delegates were welcomed back by Mr Zheng Zhihong, Minister-Counsellor of Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, and officials from the Ministry of Planning and Finance at the Yangon International Airport.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Mr Wang Xiaohui, the Party Secretary of Sichuan Province on the morning of 31 August held discussions on cooperation in infrastructure construction, agriculture and cultural sectors, promotion of bilateral economic cooperation, assistance for modern agricultural technologies.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Prime Minister also talked with Sichuan Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd. about investment issues in Myanmar’s power generation and energy sectors.
The Deputy Prime Minister attended the Fifth China Quality Conference and delivered a speech at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention Centre on 1 September.
While in Leshan, he visited the World Heritage-listed Leshan Pagoda in Leshan and Huaqian Pagoda in Ome Mountain.
He attended a dinner hosted by Mr Mabo, Leshan Party Secretary, and the issues of cooperation in agriculture, technology exchange and tourism sectors were discussed, including the designation of China’s Leshan City and Myanmar’s Bagan City as sister cities proposed by the Leshan city government.
He observed the Gaoqiao-li Rural Revitalization Project on 2 September. — MNA/KZL
