The Myanmar community, including the families of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Chiang Mai city, Thailand, donated Waso robes to monks on 20 July (the full moon day of Waso as well as Dhammacakka Day), according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Myanmar Consul-General U Min Kyaw Lin, along with the families of the Consulate-General, joined the event at the Wat Sai Moon Myanmar Monastery to offer Waso robes and donation items to the Buddhist monks, as well as serving the attendees with foods.
At the ceremony, the assistant abbot of Wat Sai Moon Myanmar Monastery, U Pannacakka, said in his sermon that Dhammacakka Day provides devout Buddhists with an opportunity to donate in accordance with the teachings of the Lord Buddha. After the sermon, the congregation shared merits. — ASH/TH
