Myanmar club allowed to compete in AFC Challenge League tourney

The Asian Football Confederation will increase the number of club competitions starting from the 2024-2025 football season, and the names of the competitions have also changed. Shan United Football Club, defending champions of the Myanmar National League, will be allowed to compete in the AFC Challenge League Tournament.
The Asian Football Confederation has held only two club competitions in recent years, the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup, but starting next season, it will hold three club competitions. The AFC Champion League Elite tournament will be held at the first level, the AFC Champion League Two at the second level, and the AFC Challenge League at the third level.
The Asian Football Confederation determines the countries that will be allowed to compete in each competition depending on the ranking of the member countries and the success of the clubs, and Myanmar will only be allowed to compete in the AFC Challenge League. Only one team from Myanmar will be allowed to compete, and it will have to start from the play-off stage of the AFC Challenge League tournament.
The AFC Challenge League, which Myanmar clubs will contest, will be held from July 2024 to May 2025 and will be divided into the East Asia zone and the West Asia zone.
The Myanmar club will compete in the East Asian zone, and the play-off stage sees Myanmar, North Korea, Indonesia, Cambodia, Macau, China Taipei, Laos, Mongolia, Brunei, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and Timor-Leste. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
