Myanmar national football team beat Laos 3-1 in the group play of AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 Group (A) at New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane yesterday.
Myanmar lined up with goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Htet, Thein Than Win, David Htan, Pyae Phyo Zaw, Zaw Min Tun, Hlaing Bo Bo, Lwin Moe Aung, Maung Maung Lwin, Than Htet Aung, Aee Soe and Aung Thu.
Both teams played well by putting their utmost efforts and showing their dribbling skills from the start.
Laos gained a super chance at the 14 minute mark and was finely finished by Phouthone Innalay.
That goal prodded Myanmar into action and equalized at 45 minute-mark by Myanmar star striker Aung Thu.
The first half was ended with 1-1. In the second half, Myanmar changed their tactic with using the power play.
Taking advantage of Laos’ ragged defence line, Pyoe Wai Htet scored the second goal for Myanmar at 72 minute.
The match intensified in the final minutes with Myanmar dominating. Again, Myanmar star Maung Maung Lwin scored the winning third goal for Myanmar by his brilliant efforts.
The win gives Myanmar a total of six points, tops in the table. Myanmar will next play against Viet Nam at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on coming Tuesday.— Lynn Thit (Tgi)
