Myanmar bag one gold, one silver at Malaysia Open Athletics Championships

Two Myanmar athletes won one gold and one silver medals at the Malaysia Open Athletics Championships, held from 14 to 16 June.
Myanmar’s May Zin Htet earned a gold medal in the women’s 20,000-metre walking race with a time of 1 hour, 55 minutes, and 05.13 seconds, while Pyae Phyo Tun won a silver medal in the men’s 20,000-metre walking race with a time of 1 hour, 47 minutes, and 31 seconds. Coach U Tun Tin from the Myanmar Athletics Federation led the two athletes during the championship.
Meanwhile, Myanmar athletes, guided by coaches U Kyaw Swa Moe and Daw Khin Ohn, are also competing in the Thailand Open Athletics Championships, held from 14 to 17 June. Team Myanmar includes Kyaw Min Aung for the 5,000-m and 10,000-m races, Kyaw Thinn San for the 5,000-m and 10,000-m races, Ye Yint Aung for the 1,500-m race, Hein Htet Aung for the 800-m and 1,500-m races, Htet Shine Aung for the 100-m and 200-m races, Htet Wai Yan for Pétanque, Nang Htet Maung for the javelin, Paing Htet Paing for long jump, Thwe Thwe Moe for string shotput, and Ei Ei Wyne for the 5,000-m and 10,000-m races. — TWA/KZL
