Myanmar attends 39th ACMF Chairs Meeting

Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win, in his capacity as Chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission of Myanmar (SECM), attended the 39th ASEAN Capital Markets Forum – ACMF Chairs’ Meeting and International Conference and Technical Workshop held in Indonesia from 16 to 18 October.
During the 39th ASEAN Capital Markets Forum on 16 October, the deputy minister discussed ASEAN Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), Operators and Foreign Sustainable and Responsible Funds (SRF) (“Handbook for ASEAN CIS-SRF”), capacity building programmes with the support of Asian Development Bank for ASEAN capital market development, Transition Finance Guidelines, ASEAN Voluntary Carbon Market Study of Climate Works Centre (CWC), the roadmap for ASEAN capital market forum, amendment of ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, regulations for digital possessions, adoption of criteria for sustainable businesses released by International Financial Reporting Standards, agreement between ACMF and IFRS Foundation and future work plans to release Private Placement for bond of infrastructure financing.
On 17 October, at the International Conference, he discussed the ASEAN Taxonomy Version 2 related matters, progress in the Carbon market, fundamental principles to reduce carbon for transition to a low-carbon economy, outcomes from ASEAN Transition Finance Guidelines based study, enhancement of knowledge on IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and ISSB standards, potentials for implementation of ISSB standards and ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) related cases.
