Myanmar attends 11th ASEAN-US Consultations on Science & Technology (AUSCST)

Myanmar Minister Counsellor Daw Htwe Hteik Tin Lwin attended the 11th ASEAN-US Consultations on Science and Technology (AUSCST) on 30 October held in Washington of the United States.
The 11th AUSCST was co-chaired by Ms Rahima Kandahari, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Department of the United States Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs and Mr Mohammad Nazri Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Brunei.
In their opening speeches, they highlighted the joint operations conducted by the US and the countries with the same attitude especially its allies, and partner countries including ASEAN, ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership (USASCP), 2023 Underwriters Laboratories−ASEAN-US, ASEAN-US science, technology and innovation and policies, Embassy Science Fellows programmes and progresses in cooperation for the use of AI technology.
Then, the Myanmar delegate discussed the Underwriters Laboratories-ASEAN-US, science and technology, (STEM) Webinar, equal participation of men and women, Artificial Intelligence-ASEAN business and prioritized policies, US-ABC cooperation, bilateral relation in agriculture, ASEAN-US Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation.
Moreover, the officials of the Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, National Science Foundation (NSF), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), USAID Bureau for Development, Democracy and Innovation and ASEAN representatives exchanged views on cooperation in science, technology and innovation sectors. — ASH/KTZH
