The Myanmar Seafarers Federation (MSF) has invited the consultation from sailors or their families in case of injury or death to enjoy their entitlements in short time.

The MSF announced that they have provided support for a Myanmar sailor who was injured while working on a ship, to receive medical care abroad, to continue receiving health care after returning to Myanmar, to get paid, and to get leave pay.

Once he was injured while working onboard, he sought assistance from the MSF immediately and thus the federation could provide necessary support.

A few months after the health care services, the medical expenses and compensation were received according to the terms of the P&I.

Therefore, whether there is an injury on the ship or a death case, Individual sailors and their families are advised to consult with the MSF to receive the rights and benefits they are entitled to in a short time.

The life compensation for three Myanmar sailors who died in the sinking of MV Tung Sung is likely to be quickly received, the MSF previously announced. Out of the four Myanmar sailors who died on board in Malaysia, the body of one sailor has yet to be found, and since then, with the help of the Department of Marine Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has completed filling the necessary forms for the compensation of these three sailors whose bodies were recovered, and they expect to receive life compensation soon, the MSF said on 5 August. Due to bad weather, MV Tung Sung, owned by a Malaysia-based company, sank approximately four nautical miles northwest of Burung Island at 1:30 am local time on 20 July 2023 while sailing from Kuching to Sarikei Port.

According to these events, either a case of injury or death, seafarers and their families are invited to come to the federation immediately and discuss it, the MSF said.
