MoSWRR holds meeting on implementation of temporarily-halted works

The meeting on the implementation of temporarily-stopped works of Social Welfare Department affected by COVID-19 was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement office yesterday.
Present at the meeting were Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the deputy minister, the permanent secretary, the directors-general, the deputy permanent secretary, the deputy directors-general, the assistant secretary and the directors.
At the outset, the Union Minister said projects are of importance with regard to the implementation of the ministry’s temporarily-stopped works affected by COVID-19. Plans are underway to open the pre-primary schools according to the social distancing directed by the Ministry of Health and Sports. The Union Minister also mentioned that COVID-19 rules ought to be discussed. The reporting system is also important. Now the monsoon climate has already set in. Thus the disaster management department can gather the information that can be predicted in advance to be able to prepare for the disaster. For instance, in case of danger, it is necessary how to carry out awareness programmes extensively.
Next, the deputy minister also said that particular emphasis should be placed on further tasks to be carried out and the opening of private schools.
With regard to the further tasks of the Social Welfare Department to be carried out, the relevant officials explained the amendment to the formation of the Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs, prevention of the violence against women, the implementation of a national-level strategic project on the development of women, plans to reopen seven schools of the disabled and private disabled vocational training schools, a draft of child care policy, the plans to carry out the tasks of youth affairs, preparatory measures for reopening of pre-primary schools with the use of PowerPoint.
Afterwards, those present discussed and coordinated the matters followed by the instructions of the Union Minister and the deputy minister. —MNA
