MoST Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw virtually joins the 19th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation.

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw attended the 19th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation hosted by Viet Nam through videoconferencing yesterday.
At the meeting, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw said that Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) is an important part of promoting economic development and promoting stability and integration in the ASEAN region. STI is a way to achieve most of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Science, technology and innovation (STI) play an important role in supporting the digital transformation and success of the SDGs. Myanmar is implementing the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation (2016-2025), and the emphasis is placed on capacity building and scientific and technological innovation.
At the meeting, the ASEAN Ministers of Science and Technology discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for the development of a prosperous and sustainable STI in the ASEAN region. — MNA
