More than 45,000 City Taxis register for side stickers

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) has reported that more than 45,000 city taxi vehicles in Yangon have already registered their side stickers.
There are over 60,000 city taxis in Yangon, and side sticker numbers representing each of the 45 townships are being affixed to these taxis.
During the installation process, the symbolic number for taxis in Taikkyi Township is No 1, for taxis in Htantabin Township is No 2, and for taxis in Mingaladon Township is No 3, and so on, with each number corresponding to a specific township. Taxis without the updated side sticker will not be allowed to enter restricted areas.
The “C” Charter Department, operating under the YRTC, is overseeing the registration process to develop a systematic management plan. This plan aims to ensure that taxis in the Yangon Region comply with regulations, provide reliable passenger transportation services, and align with the city’s characteristics.
For the registration of taxi vehicles, fees include K1,200 for the side sticker number, K3,000 for the registration fee, K600 for the driver’s license fee, and K3,500 for the driver’s license card system. — TWA/CT
