MoIP Union Minister receives Thai Ambassador

Thai Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump calls on Union Minister U Myint Kyaing yesterday.

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Thai Ambassador to Myanmar, at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Both sides cordially exchanged views on matters of preparations for the national census in Myanmar next October, the security and transport conditions, the extension of the programme in some regions, Thailand’s support for Myanmar’s census work, plans for Myanmar workers in Thailand to work legally, the status of identifying and assisting Thai nationals who are illegally present in Myanmar, the cooperation in legal entry and exit for citizens of the two countries at the borders, cooperation in immigration-related measures to effectively prevent from the people who engage in fraud through online games and human trafficking.
Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing and Dr Myo Thant, Director-General U Ye Tun Oo from the Immigration Department and officials were present at the meeting. — MNA/TS
