Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn addresses the meeting with departmental staff of the Ministry of Information yesterday.

The government makes concerted efforts to ensure peace and tranquillity, promote the economy, and fend off price hikes.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said above while meeting the staff of affiliated departments under the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The event commenced with a video clip on nation-building endeavours and the role of state media.
In his speech, the Union minister highlighted the video clip that features the activities of the government during two years and a half for the country through collective strength and appreciated the staff for their collective efforts in performing their respective duties.
He also said that the sharing of information through various media outlets regarding the collective efforts of government, public, Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force and private organizations in overcoming the challenges in all sectors including the Cyclone Mocha bring mental power to the public. All the challenges should be solved based on the goodwill, lovingkindness and honesty of all.
In the information age, it is easy to know what is happening in the world. All the world countries emphasize their own self-interest and treat other countries unevenly just for their interests. He called for the cooperation of every individual staff member in implementing tasks of national interest through media, saying the government makes concerted efforts to ensure peace and tranquillity, promote the economy and fend off price rises.
He continued that the Prime Minister carries out the development programmes for the country in addition to the measures to promote the MSMEs and instruct the youths to become perfect ones with five essential strengths.
He then urged the staff to be aware of one-sided information spreading on Facebook.
Then, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung coordinated the discussion and fulfilled the needs of the staff. — MNA/KTZH
