MoI Union Minister inspects paddy husk gasifier power generation facility

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than visits the construction site of the paddy husk gasification power plant in Ayeyawady Region yesterday.

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than and officials inspected the construction of the power generation facility utilizing a paddy husk gasifier by the Global Earth Agro & Aqua Industry Public Company Limited in Ayeyawady Region yesterday morning. The managing director explained the project’s process, after which the Union minister called for its expedited construction and issued necessary instructions. Subsequently, he inspected the power generation status, machine and boiler installations, and the construction progress of the refrigeration plant.
Additionally, the Union minister attended a coordinating meeting for industrial development and industrial zones. This meeting took place at the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection Office in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, on 21 June.
During the meeting, the Union minister emphasized the importance of understanding the law, stressing that employees must grasp its essence and objectives for effective implementation, especially concerning the establishment of industrial zones and collaboration with businesses attracted to these zones. Detailed information about Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is crucial to meeting their needs and fostering increased manufacturing activities. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of environmental protection, ensuring that industrial activities do not adversely affect people’s lives or property. To achieve sustainable development in industrial zones, he underscored the necessity of collaboration with regional technological universities and vocational education schools.
The deputy director-general of the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection explained the decisions made at the meeting 1/2024 of the Central Committee for Industry and Industrial Zone Development. Subsequently, other relevant departmental officials discussed details regarding industrial zones, and the Union minister responded to the issues presented. — MNA/TRKM
