MOI holds discussions with Danish, Kuwait journalists

Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun met with Claus Blok Thomsen, Asia correspondent for Danish newspaper Politiken, and Javaid Ahmad from Kuwait Times, separately, at the office of the Ministry of Information yesterday.
At the meeting with Thomsen, the Deputy Minister discussed the terrorist attacks that occurred in Rakhine State and the programmes undertaken to address the issue, the implementation of Rakhine’s development plans with guidance from the Rakhine Advisory Board, the misleading news provided by the international media agencies on the Rakhine State situation and the pressure from the United Nations, as well as other international agencies. During the meeting with Ahmad, the Deputy Minister discussed the repatriation process for returnees from Bangladesh, the false accusations made by the western media and the condition of free press and censorship in Myanmar.—Myanmar News Agency
