MoHT UM pays inspection & motivational tours for Bagan Plastic Campaign

Local people clean up plastics and other debris in Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone during a campaign on 6 January 2024.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine conducted inspection and motivational tours as part of the Bagan Plastic Campaign. The initiative aimed to boost the morale of the campaign team and district/township departments involved in cleaning activities within the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone.
Commencing the event, the Union minister delivered an uplifting speech to the Bagan Plastic Campaign team members actively engaged in cleanup efforts at various key locations.
These included NangU Pagoda, Thatbyinnyu Temple, Thantawkya Pagoda, Grocho Pagoda, Pitakataik area and Information Centre, Maha Bodhi Pagoda, Gupisat Pagoda, Kadawpalin Pagoda, Myingala Stupa in the north of Myingaba Village, and Shwenanyin Forest Monastery within the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone.
The cleanup activity witnessed a collaborative effort involving not only the Bagan Plastic Campaign team but also participants from hotels/motels in NyaungU Township, members of the restaurant owners’ association, tour operators’ association, tour guides’ associations, members of the four balloon companies, and staff from NyaungU District/Township departments. — MNA/TKO
