MNL: Yangon claims victory over Yadanabon

Yangon United secured a 5-2 win over Yadanabon FC in the Myanmar National League’s fixture-six match played at the Thuwanna Youth Training Centre in Yangon yesterday.
Yangon United, who previously faced the current champions Shan United away, bounced back with a decisive win over Yadanabon FC, with their performance highlighting a strong return. Despite Yadanabon’s best efforts and two early goals from their side, they were unable to maintain their lead and succumbed to defeat.
Yangon United made several changes to their lineup, with David Htan, Zaw Win Thein, Okka Naing, and Yan Kyaw Htwe all featuring. Yadanabon also introduced Soe Min Oo, Yan Kyaw Soe, Kyi Soe, and Ti Nyein Min. The match kicked off with a goal from Ti Nyein Min for Yadanabon in the 13th minute, but Yangon United responded with a goal from Yan Kyaw Htwe in the 25th minute, levelling the score at halftime.
After the break, Arkar scored another leading goal for Yadanabon in the 55th minute, but Yangon United quickly equalized again with a goal from Hline Bo Bo in the 58th minute. Yangon United capitalized on their opportunities, with goals from Kaung Sithu in the 76th minute, Zaw Win Thein in the 86th minute, and Aung Myo Khant in stoppage time (90+4) minutes sealing their victory.
Zaw Win Thein was awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. With this win, Yangon United now has 14 points from six matches, while Yadanabon has accumulated 10 points from the same number of games.
The final match of Fixture Six will be played today at the Yangon United Sports Complex, where Maha United will face Dagon Star United. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
