MNHRC inspects Kyimyindine School for Blind, Mary Chapman School for Deaf

MNHRC commissioners are seen inspecting the food supply at the Mary Chapman School for the Deaf in Yangon yesterday.

The inspection team, led by members U Kyaw Soe, Dr Than Myint and Dr Myint Thu Myaing from the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC), inspected the Kyimyindine School for the Blind in Kyimyindine Township and Mary Chapman School for the Deaf in Dagon Township, Yangon Region, yesterday.
The team inspected the Kyimyindine School for the Blind and Mary Chapman School for the Deaf under the MNHRC Law and procedures whether the students in the schools can get fundamental rights including the status of COVID-19 vaccination and healthcare services, food supply, adequate dormitories, availability of citizenship scrutiny cards (CSCs), the provision of purified drinking water, support programme for physical and mental development, as well as the right to education,  vocational training courses, communication with their families, reintegration with their families, and freedom of religion.
MNHRC will send recommendations to relevant departments on the findings during the inspection visits. — MNHRC
