Malicious media outlets disseminated false information, saying that more than ten refugees were arrested by security forces in Shwebo, Sagaing Region, on 17 August.
Responding to such fake news, a security forces officer clarified that the arrest of over ten refugees was invalid, and upon a tip-off, the security forces patrolled and conducted surprise checks in the region.
Subversive media outlets intentionally circulate false claims and misinformation to threaten people and mislead the public about security forces carrying out security duties. — MNA/KTZH
