Misinformation alert: DVB alleges arrests in Pyay guest houses

The malicious media DVB has been circulating unsubstantiated information on social media, accusing security troops and police of arresting over 20 individuals holding citizenship scrutiny cards issued in Rakhine State, staying at guest houses in Pyay, Bago Region, during a surprise midnight check on 22 February.
A responsible official dismissed the false news, asserting that there were no arrests and that the report was fabricated to create misunderstandings regarding the security troops. Security forces and local police are patrolling and conducting midnight checks in the region to prevent terrorist activities and maintain law and order. Malicious media are intentionally spreading false reports to mislead the public. — MNA/NT
