The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) conducted 28 Factory Applied Labour Law courses from August 2022 to December 2023 and has already trained 829 managers and supervisors from 464 factories, according to the MGMA.
With the objectives of strengthening awareness of labour law compliance in the garment industry and improving relations in the working environment, the MGMA offers these awareness courses to its member factories.
“The MGMA has achieved the task of spreading awareness training of labour laws and workplace communication in the garment sector,” said an MGMA official.
In an intake, 30 trainees are invited from an HR manager and a supervisor each of 15 member factories.
The course is held twice a month, and 28 batches have been conducted between August 2022 and December 2023, with in-depth lectures and discussions on labour law compliance in factories, relations in the workplace and the significant role of supervisors. — MT/ZN/ED
